Election Commissioner Dr SY Quraishi and Deputy Commissioner JP Prakash are holding meetings with state election officials to evaluate the poll preparedness of Gujarat that goes to polls on April 30.
According to officials from the state electoral office, Quraishi and Prakash are holding meeting with returning officials and police officials from four zones - North Gujarat, Central Gujarat, South Gujarat and Saurashtra and Kutch.
They are discussing poll-related issues such as security, strict observance of model code of conduct, special arrangments for sensitive booths, among others, officials said.
"This is the final meeting for preparedness in the state which will vote in the third phase on April 30 when all 26 Parliamentary constituencies will go to polls," a senior official said.
