A student of GLA College of Engineering and Technology has developed a two-seater electric car, that can be made commercially available for less than a lakh rupees.
Final year Mechanical Engineering student Pradeep Kumar Rahi claimed that the 525-kg vehicle can clock 110 km when the battery is charged fully, and it roughly incurs an expenditure of 37 paise per km.

The vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 66 km per hour. College chairman Narain Das Agarwal announced that the expenditure incurred on the car’s development would be reimbursed.
“The college management would help him in case Rahi decides to commercially launch the vehicle,” Agarwal said.
