A civilian ship, "apparently Egyptian", was hit during an attack on an Israeli warship off the Lebanese coast.

A civilian ship, "apparently Egyptian", was hit during an attack on an Israeli warship off the Lebanese coast, an Israeli military spokesperson said.

"During the attack which targeted our ship, a civilian vessel, apparently Egyptian-flagged, which was passing nearby was hit by a rocket," she added.

The crewmembers of the boat, which was set ablaze on Friday night, were picked up by another vessel which came to its aid, said the spokesperson, without saying whether there were any casualties.
