Indian truck and motorcycle maker Eicher Motors Ltd said on Monday domestic sales of its trucks in August were up 54 per cent on year to 1,960 units.

A company statement said another 86 units were exported.

DaimlerChrysler, the world's biggest maker of commercial vehicles, indirectly holds a 3.6 per cent stake in Eicher.
Eicher shares were trading up 4.76 per cent at Rs 237.70 in a firm Mumbai market.
