Pakistan Marine Security Agency (PMSA) allowed eight aged Indian fishermen to return home after they were arrested for straying into neighbouring country's waters while fishing on Thursday, the officials in Vadodara said on Saturday.
The eight fishermen were let go due to their old age and condition of their families back home, they said.
PMSA had seized four boats and arrested 21 fishermen alleging they entered Pakistani waters bordering Sir Creek area in Jakhua port in Kutchh district illegally.
After interrogation PMSA officials allowed "Divya Prakash" boat to return to its base in Porbandar and took away 13 fishermen in three seized Indian boats identified as Vishwajit, LaxmiSarovar, and Krishna Raj to Karachi port in Pakistan yesterday.
When eight fishermen released by Pakistani authorise reached "Navi Bandar", near Porbandar late last night, they were interrogated by State and Central government agencies.
In their statements recorded with the Navi Bandar police station, the fishermen said, "they were released due to their old age and health conditions and poor state of their family members."
None of the released fishermen complained about any type of ill treatment by the PMSA during interrogation, officials told PTI on Saturday.
