DECLARING THAT his ouster would harm their interests, IMC employees on Thursday went on an impromptu token strike to demand the return of former Municipal Commissioner P Narhari.

The strike, called by Indore Nagar Nigam Karamchari Mahasangh, came after a meeting held at the Corporation headquarters around an hour before new Commissioner Vinod Sharma was slated to assume charge.

Addressing the meeting, Mahasangh leader Ramlal Yadav termed Narhari as an honest and upright official who had worked to protect employees’ interests by restarting the stalled promotion process and hiking medical benefits.

Yadav also attributed yesterday’s MiC decision to increase muster employee agreement duration from 29 to 89 days to the former Commissioner’s efforts. After the speech Yadav placed
