The BMC team removed some newly-erected shanties from Link Road 3 but did not touch the cluster of kiosks that has come up at three places at least on this road. Earlier, on Monday, some BJP corporators had opposed the removal of these kiosks put up in front of the Water Resource Department’s office near Kolar Square.

Besides, the BMC team removed two kiosks from the area behind Subhash School. The team also removed some encroachments from BJP’s State Office area. At least five encroachments were removed from Harshvardhan Nagar.

The encroachments from the land belonging to Lajpat Colony Park were also removed. BMC additional commissioner K K Singh Chouhan and SDM Urmila Shukla were present during the removal of these encroachments. The BMC administration urged the citizens to remove their encroachments from drains and footpaths on their own.
