The Government should realise that the RTI Act is an effective shield against corruption and inefficiency (Telling tales, August 29). As opined, if all five members of the CIC were to hear the appeal together, its working would come to a standstill. This is tantamount to suggesting that all judges of the Supreme Court should hear every appeal together.

It is sad that no attempts are being made to make a distinction between the Muslim community and jehadi terrorists. This is leading to a disturbing tendency to view the Muslim community as a whole with suspicion. If not stemmed, it will lead to an irreparable divide between Muslims and non-Muslims. On the other side of the coin, it is also the Muslim leaders' failure to effectively condemn terrorism and their tendency to rationalise and find justification for these nefarious acts that is making even right-minded people look upon them with suspicion.
