Enraged father makes 12-yr-old beg for scoring poor marks

The 12-year-old girl was forced to beg in front of a temple in Mysore for not doing well in class VII exams. The man said he wanted to teach his daughter the hardships of life.

A class seven student was forced by her father to beg in front of a temple in Mysore for scoring poor marks in exams.

Prakash, a senior assistant lab technician, on Monday night forced his 12-year-old daughter to beg as he was upset with her performance in exams.

The girl was found crying with a bowl in her hand at a temple when a social activist found her and took her to police station.

The father was arrested and a case was registered against him under the Juvenile Justice Act. However, he managed to get bail.

Prakash admitted he made his daughter beg as he wanted to teach her the hardships of life.

The girl is now with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). The CWS has decided to keep her in a juvenile home until the issue was resolved.
