The training was given during the ongoing Young Scientist Workshop on Parasitic and Microbial Biodiversity and Aquaculture implications organised by Parasitology Laboratory of Allahabad University’s Department of Zoology.

It was illustrated during the training session that every stage of development of parasite or microbe is under influence of ever changing attributes of environment factors and micro-level changes in terms of time, which were to be taken into account to make accurate predictions.

These informations were fed into GARP software constituents to produce a model that could forecast recurrence of a particular infectious organism in domestic animals or on a crop.

Dr Mohd Irfan Ullah, convenor of Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE), Bangalore, assured that the software developed by ATREE would be available in future to the Parasitology Laboratory to alleviate the sufferings of farmers and aquaculturists in Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country.

The young scientist’s oral presentation session followed the morning deliberations by eminent experts under the chairmanship of former head of Bioscience Department, Barkatullah University, Bhopal Prof DK Belsare, Dr IK Pai from Goa University, Dr Mohd Irfan and Dr GD Khedkar from Dr BA University, Aurangabad.
