EXPELLED BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti’s ‘Janadesh Yatra’ entered Varanasi on Tuesday evening. The yatra, which began from Vindhyachal in Mirzapur district, arrived here traversing Narainpur, Ramnagar, Prahladghat and Ambia Madi.
Former student leaders of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Awadesh Dixit and Pateshwar Choudhary welcomed the yatra on its arrival at Ramnagar late in the afternoon. Supporters of Uma Bharti are joining her yatra in large numbers.
The yatra later reached Prahladghat in Varanasi city where students of MGKV led by Pradip Rai welcomed it.
Soon, it reached Maidagin and from there it proceeded to Dashashwamedh ghat.
Bharti is scheduled to participate in Ganga Aarti besides paying obeisance at Vishwanath temple and Kal Bhairav temple. She will also address a meeting late in the evening.
She is scheduled to address a public rally at the district headquarters here and her Janadesh Yatra will proceed to Gazipur on Wednesday.
She will address a rally in Mohammdabad late on Wednesday evening.

“As a result, smooth operators these days have an advantage over those people who are knowledgeable but not worldly wise. This leads to increasing social and psychological disorders,” he said.Prof Chakraborty was delivering a lecture during a national seminar on ‘Knowledge Management’ at the School of Management Studies, in Khushipur on Monday.He said people should also understand the kind of knowledge and power that would enhance the welfare of the people.
Prof Veer Bhadra Mishra spoke on Indian science and its relevance in the present era.
He stressed optimum utilisation of knowledge resources for achieving the goals of life. Swami Chidanand Maharaj of Krishnamurthi Foundation India, emphasised the need of understanding knowledge management in a holistic perspective.
