To reduce the stress level of students appearing in the Board examinations, the government plans to launch an online interactive session through its 'one-stop education portal' Sakshat on Republic Day.

Experts in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, English, Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies will answer the questions of students from Class XI and XII online, from 5 pm to 11 pm everyday.

The students can access this online facility on the url 'http://www.sakshat.ac.in' or 'http://www.sakshat.ignou.ac.in/sakshat/index.aspx' or 'http://www.sakshat. gov.in' by clicking on the column 'Interact' and selecting the option 'Talk to a teacher.'

This would open up chat rooms subject-wise. The learner can then enter a chat room where he would be able to find other students and teachers already logged in.

The student can ask any question or clarify any doubt by typing it in the relevant box and sending it to the chat room.

Sakshat has been designed and developed with the cooperation of Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi University, Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institutes of Technology.

The portal is also likely to introduce a feature called 'Learn from specific professors' wherein renowned scholars will put together their knowledge in the form of modules to guide the students. Virtual reality labs are next in line where students can supplement their learning.
