Exit polls will be proved wrong: Jaitley
Law Minister has said the exit poll results will be proved wrong and the NDA will gain clear majority.
Dismissing speculation of a hung Parliament, Union Law Minister Arun Jaitley said on Thursday the exit poll results will once again be proved wrong and the national democratic alliance will gain clear majority in the general elections.
"In the last elections too, the exit poll results had been proved wrong and we are confident that the NDA will get clear majority in the Lok Sabha elections", he said while talking to reporters in Lucknow.
"NDA is already in lead in the elections held so far and after the remaining two rounds are completed, it will get clear majority", Jaitley said.
Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee's leadership, policies of the ruling coalition and political stability provided during the last five years are some of the reasons for the coalition gaining the confidence of the people of the country, he said.
"The issue, which has clicked throughout the country is the question of leadership and the people have already made up their mind and want to see Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the next prime minister," the minister said.
On the contrary, Jaitley pointed out, the opposition was 'bereft' of any accepted leader and rifts have started surfacing on the issue just on the basis of speculation arising out of exit poll projections.
