To change the situation and provide quality and equal education to all, a major political movement is necessary, experts at a seminar on ‘challenges of quality education’ opined.

The seminar was organised at the MP Shiksha Abhiyan and associated organisations at the AICUF Ashram here. About 150 representatives of 70 organisations from 24 districts of the State participated.

People’s Movement on Equal Schooling System national convener Amrish Rai said education is facing bad time as it did not feature in political agenda.

Due to lack of political will not even a small portion of budget of union or state governments is being spent on education. He said that education is only vehicle for equitable society and the objective of education of all would be possible only through political movement.

Activist Pratibha Shinde stressed on change in political attitude for achieving the objective. Member of the executive council of Rewa University Ramesh Dwivedi, chairperson of the MP Shikshak Sangh Hemlata Jain, convenor of the MP Janadhikar Manch Vijay Gupta and Anwar Jafri of voluntary organisation Samavesh also participated in the seminar.
