Explosives found in Assam suspected to be RDX

Explosive susbstances suspected to be RDX were found in upper Assam's Sibsagar district on Tuesday, a senior district police official said.

The explosive susbstance was found in a village between Sapekhati and Sonari. The villagers on seeing the explosive suspected it to be a bomb and reported it to the police, Superintendent of Police SP Sharma said.

The nature of the explosive susbstances as to whether it was RDX or a bomb was yet to be ascertained as experts had gone to the site and investigations were on, Sharma said.
