It is shocking to note that suicides in the Army far outnumber battle casualties (HT, July 4). Around 11,500 farmers also committed suicide in the last six years.

It is shocking to note that suicides in the Army far outnumber battle casualties (HT, July 4). Around 11,500 farmers also committed suicide in the last six years. These matters are too serious to be left to politicians. Lal Bahadur Shastri once famously hailed the role of jawans and kisans. The present governbment has ignored his policies.
