FABINDIA OPENED its retail outlet in Treasure Island, Indore, today. Store Manager Manu Hasija told reporters on the occasion that this was their second outlet in the City.
She explained that Fabindia offers hand-woven fabrics and simple ethnic wear for men and women. She said readymade curtains and men’s kurtas were the most popular products of the store in Indore.
Fabindia specialises in handloom and hand block printed garments. The garments are available both in silk and cotton. The store consists of home decoration items from lights, upholstery, bed linen and bath linen to baskets, hangings and showpieces. The ladies section comprises stylish dupattas, kurti, suits, tops and cotton pants.
The men’s section has kurtas, Rajasthani mojris (shoes) etc. Fabindia has 30 stores all over India with presence in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Hyderabad. Fabindia deals directly with weavers promoting Indian craft.
The store staff provides counselling about dressing style to the customers. Fabinida has in-house designers to demonstrate designs to the weavers.
