The sessions court on Tuesday asked the Kandivli police to get a letter from the boy’s school.

Rahul (name changed) allegedly raped eight-year-old Sapna (name changed) in October last year. Rahul was later arrested and lodged in Dongri remand home. Rahul filed an application in the juvenile court seeking bail to appear for his Class 10 examination. But the juvenile court rejected the application.

Later, Rahul again filed an application in the same court for bail. His application was rejected the second time too.
Sources in the court said his application had been rejected as the boy and the victim lived in the same locality and that giving bail could hamper investigations.

Sources said that now the boy’s family has shifted to some other area.

Unhappy with the juvenile court’s order, Rahul filed an application seeking bail for the third time.

Public Prosecutor RV Kini refused comment as the court is yet to hear the bail application.
