A factory owner was accused of letting loose her pet dog on a group of children, while they were playing, and the dog bit a 12-year-old child.
The incident happened on Saturday evening when Rahul Nishad, the victim, was playing along with his friends near his house adjacent to the factory.
According to a complaint filed with the police, the boy was playing near Mika and Sons, which makes iron products, at F-47 in Sector 11. "The boys were playing near the factory gate on Saturday as they used to do everyday. The entrance to the factory got dirtied due to heavy winds blowing at the time. The factory owner came out and started scolding the boys," said Ram Murat, Rahul's father who is an auto-rickshaw driver.
"Then she asked Rahul to come inside. As he entered the office, she let her pet dog free. The dog mauled my son and bit him on his legs, thighs and hands," said Murat.
The victim's family was informed about the incident by his friends. The boy was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was given first aid. "When we went to talk to the factory owner we were not allowed in," Murat said.
"And when we went to the district hospital for medical examination, the authorities there asked us to get a copy of police complaint first," he said.
The victim's family members said that the police were not cooperating with them. They alleged that the police refused to register a case. "We went to sector 24 police station to get the case registered, but they refused," said Murat.

The police admitted that the family had come to the police station. Though no FI Rhas been registered, the police have started an investigation in the case.
Despite repeated attempts, the factory owner could not be reached for comment. A security guard at the factory too refused to comment saying he was not aware of any such incident.
