Shalu, daughter of Sewaram Verma, on Sunday committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Chakeri area in Kanpur, they said.

Shalu was upset as she was unable to clear the Board exams, results for which were declared on Saturday.

In a similar incident, Vedprakash, who also failed clear the exam, was found hanging from a tree in Jaisingh Pur village of the district. This was his second attempt.
