THE JOINT officers’ team from the district administration and the police, which unearthed a racket of fake certificates and arrested two of the accused, is encouraged with the success and is following more leads. The results of the investigations may come as a surprise to many, as the involvement of many more people in the racket cann ot be ruled out.
According to police sources, about half of dozen more names have surfaced for their alleged involvement in the case and efforts are on to nab them.
The gang involved in the issue of all kinds of fake certificates had been operating in the district for a long time. However, in the past few months, the district administration was flooded with complaints about the large number of fake certificates from different departments. Taking note of the complaints, the district magistrate asked the police and the district administration officials to investigate the issue.
Consequently, the joint team of officials from the district administration and the police swung into action and arrested two persons from the court complex yesterday.
However, sources said that the recent arrest of the two person had exposed the involvement of many more people to the investigating team.

In the meantime, Ashok Yadav and Kamal Singh, who were arrested for their imvolvement in the racket, were produced in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate (III) Krishna Kumar, who sent them to jail in judicial custody. However, both accused have also been booked under the Gangster Act by the police and remand of the accused for the same will come up before the court on July 29.
