THE QUICKFIRE 46 runs innings and three wickets by Farhan Ansari today saw Saifia Club in the next round of the Rakesh Soni Memorial Masters Cup cricket tournament being organised at Bab-e-Aali Stadium. Farhan was declared man of the match. Hoshangabad Division defeated Dynamic Club in the second match.
In the first match, Saifia Club defeated Hamidia Academy by 38 runs. Batting first, Saifia Club scored 168 runs in 23 overs. Farhan Ansari scored highest 46 runs including nine boundaries. His brilliant batting never allowed bowlers to take upper hand in the entire match. Javed Akhtar and Anwar Usmani contributed 34 and 30 runs respectively.
Chasing the target, Hamidia Academy was all out for 130 runs. After a good innings of 46 runs, Farhan Ansari posed problems to the opponents by claiming three wickets. Pradeep, Mukarram claimed three wickets each for Saifia Club.
Second match played between Hoshangabad Division and Dynamic Club ended in the favour of the former. Batting first, Hoshangabad Division piled up 192 runs for the loss of just four wickets. Deepak Tiwari with 77 runs was the highest scorer.
Chasing the target in the stipulated 20 overs, Dynamic Club failed to stand against disciplined bowling attack. The team was all out for 134. Sanjay and Sunil claimed three wickets each for Hoshangabad.
