Devbhumi Group of Institutes, located in Chandpur village of Una district, has provided financial support to Sihag for the launch of the product.

Interacting with mediapersons at the launch ceremony on Saturday, Sihag said, "The product named - "Track 24x7" - is the cheapest and provides more facilities as compared to the devices being sold by big players."

He said, "The device that is half the size of a palm could be fitted in any part of the car's concealed compartments. It will provide live monitoring of location and speed of the vehicle, besides fuel and battery consumption of the vehicle on your mobile."

Sihag said in case of theft, the owner could switch off the ignition of the car from any location using his mobile.

He said, "The device has the facility of geo-fencing, which means that the owner can create a virtual fencing of varying radius around the vehicle. If the vehicle goes beyond that radius, the owner receives an alarm on his mobile."

He said the device costing Rs 7,000 would help minimise vehicle thefts.

Sihag, an expert in information technology, works for an electronic company at his home town.

"I used to do research work on the product after my duty hours," he said, adding that his main motive was to cut on cost and size, while increasing the product services.

He said Devbhumi supported him financially for the launch and marketing of the product.

Next, Sihag plans to make GPS for schoolchildren. The device, fitted in the shoe soles, will monitor the movement of children and report these to the parents on their mobiles.

Chairman of the Devbhumi Group of Institutions Bhupinder Sharma, vice-chairman Rajesh Jindal and director Dr Suraj Pathak were also present at the inauguration.
