The police said that Daulat Ram (40) and his son Nitin Kumar (21) were apprehended on Wednesday after a chase in Karol Bagh when they snatched the mobile phone from one Dilshad.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Jaspal Singh said, “Daulat intentionally came in front of Dilshad’s motorcycle and pretended he was hit by the vehicle. As Dilshad stopped the motorcycle, Nitin got up and filched the mobile phone from his pocket.”

Daulat told police that he used to intentionally come in front of slow moving two-wheelers.

“Nitin used to pick out the mobile phone or cash from the pockets of the person driving the two-wheeler”, Singh claimed. The father was previously involved in three cases of theft in Kamla Market, DBG Road and Sadar Bazar.
