On Saturday, 15 Sainiks were stationed in the compound of her building Miramir Society at Cadell Road in Dadar, fearing an attack from MNS cadre.

Even the police stationed a jeep outside the premises and deployed two constables.

Parulkar said: “There are just 10 to 15 Sainiks in my compound but I do not foresee any such threat. The police have come on their own. I have not asked for any protection.”

Senior Inspector Ashok Unde said it was a precautionary measure. “We do not want to take any chances,” he said. On Friday, Parulkar criticised the MNS, calling it an undisciplined outfit and accused it of mishandling the son-of-the-soil issue.

The MNS ruled out the possibility of any attack on Parulkar.

“It is not our culture to attack a woman,” said Shirish Parkar, MNS spokesperson. “For us, the episode is closed.”Around 1,000 women affiliated to the party marched to Raj Thackeray’s house, barely 200 m from Parulkar’s building, to express their solidarity.

Thackeray and his wife Sharmila thanked the women for supporting him.
