It was irony at its best at the Fida party this weekend. The venue My Kind of Place (Taj Palace) turned out to be anything but the cast’s kind of place. The Fida team, at its best, seemed completely fed up.
After being late for three hours or so (the wait was far too long for us to even keep a track), the Fida four of Kareena, Shahid, director Ken Ghosh and producer Ramesh Taurani (Fardeen didn’t even bother showing up) obliged with a 10-minute presence.
Overheard at the do: Kareena to Shahid: (face with a fixed frown, pointing towards the dance floor) “What is this Shahid? I am not going in there.” Shahid to onlookers: “Will you guys just let us be? Please make way for us to move in . This is no way.”
He did speak to a couple of fans later though. The two, one presumes, had been out on a promotional trip since afternoon that day. And the fact that the film hasn’t managed a good opening, despite the brazen promotion of the lead’s personal affection for each other only makes things worse. Ghosh, however, was busy attending phone calls and walking his way out after the Kapoor couple stole the thunder.
Bebo, despite the tiredness and the complete lack of interest was a looker. Check out what she’s managed with a terribly normal white kurta. The blue
dupatta with gota did the trick. The blonde streak obviously an added bonus.
DT Cinemas and Amadeus, the travel distribution system hosted the party. Said Ankur Bhatia, managing director, Amadeus, “This is surrogate advertising for us. Through this party, we are entertaining the travel community of Delhi. All the high fliers of the city have been invited,” he added. Just that none of the representatives from DT, the co-hosts turned up!
Ironic indeed.
