According to forest official, a 22-year-old man from Sunderkhal village fell prey to a man-eater big cat. Villagers found victim's legs on late Wednesday evening while rest of the body parts were missing. While the sources suggested that man-eater was a tigress, department however refused to confirm the same.

"Agitated villagers have blocked the entire route and are pelting stones at us. We are yet to reach the spot. It's difficult to confirm whether it was a man-eater tiger or tigress," said Ravindra Juyal division forest officer (DFO) Ramnagar. Meanwhile, Ranjan Kumar Mishra, director CTR was trying to pacify agitated villagers till the time of filing this report.
