Former model Mehr Jessia says she is dismayed by fashion designer Namrata Joshipura’s allegations against the post-IPL parties being hosted by her and hubby Arjun Rampal. In a recent interview, Joshipura had called the parties ‘trashy’ and said that conducting fashion shows at such an event was ‘inappropriate’.

The fashion-IPL parties allow designers to showcase their collections to the guests present at the venue. Since March 12, 31 such shows have been held. “These shows were always meant to be fun. Neither the IPL nor my company has done anything different from what we offered,” says Jessia.

Ninety per cent of the designers are very happy with the response, she says. “There are designers such as James Ferreira who saw a complete sell-out. Many people want to become a part of the show.”Quality control Jessia explains that Joshipura’s fashion party coincided with the additional day of the recently concluded fashion week. “She was worried that there would be no crowd but we worked hard to turn it into a success. Later she sent ‘thank you’ SMSes.
