A Pakistan Air Force fighter jet crashed on Wednesday during a training mission, killing its pilot, a spokesman said.

The Chinese-made F-7 came down in Pindighep district near the capital Islamabad, said air force spokesman Air Commodore Sarfraz Ahmad Khan.

"The crash was fatal and an investigation has been ordered," Khan said. It caused no damage on the ground.
The air force fleet includes US-built F-16s, French Mirages and Chinese aircraft.
