Criticizing the Congress government for delay in declaring its film policy, Uttaranchal Film Chamber of Commerce President R K Verma said, "it was adversely affecting the promotion of film business in the state."

Red tape and tough bureaucratic procedures were hampering the growth of film industry in the state, Verma said in a statement here adding, the chamber has decided to campaign against the Congress party due to this.

"Uttaranchal is one of the most scenic and beautiful states of the country. But wrong policies of the N D Tiwari government have become big hurdles in the growth of film production in the state," he said.

The chamber also launched a scathing atack on state Information Minister Indira Hridayesh saying, "she lacks knowledge about the films and the draft of film policy submitted by film advisory board in 2002 which was still gathering dust in her office."
