Film industry relieved after Dutt's interim bail order

The film industry breathes a sigh of relief after Sanjay Dutt gets bail, but uncertainty still looms large over the future of his unfinished projects.

The film industry on Monday breathed a sigh of relief following the apex court order granting interim bail to Sanjay Dutt, but uncertainty still looms large over the future of his unfinished projects.

"Even though he has got bail, much depends on what happens in the final judgement. After all this is just an interim bail," film trade analyst Taran Adarsh told PTI in Mumbai.

"Whether or not his incomplete projects will be completed depends on for how long he is out on bail. He does have some major projects like Abbas Mustan's next, and he would require some time before he can complete them," he added.

Industry sources said it was unlikely that producers would start any of the films so soon, until it was clear what period of time the actor would remain out of jail.

Most of the people in the industry were happy about the interim bail but preferred to wait and watch before giving any concrete reactions.
