Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is all set to launch the much anticipated DVD of Lagaan and Chale Chalo - an illustration of the making of the film.
The actor was in the FeVer 104 FM studio in Mumbai.

Why are you releasing the DVD of Lagaan and Chale Chalo after so many years of the film's release?
Lagaan is very close to my heart, not only because I produced and acted in the film, but also because I loved the script. I feel extremely proud to be associated with a project that every Indian holds dear and I would like everybody to have a part of this in their homes.

Is it true that you actually refused to be a part of Lagaan at first?
When Ashu (director Ashutosh Gowarikar) came to me, my tist reaction was, "Please think of something sensible". I was completely against the idea and thought that this would never work. But Ashu persevered and I read out the script to my mother, father and Reena. They fell in love with it and insisted that I had to be a part of the film. I took the job of the producer because I wanted to do justice to the script.

Any funny incident that happened during the making of Lagaan?
Oh! There are many. Once there was a crowd of about 10,000 people who gathered near the sets. I had to perform the song Kya Bolti Tu just to keep them under control. The fans and the unit had a great time.

Don't you think being choosey about films can be risky as they might not do well at the box office?
No, I don't think so. Today people believe that if I do a film, there has to be some substance in the film.
