FIR against Ramdas Kadam for inflammatory speech

An FIR has been registered against Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam for allegedly giving an inflammatory speech during a political rally in Mumbai two days back, police said today.

The Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) police has registered a first information report against Shivsena leader Ramdas Kadam for allegedly making communally provocative statements during his public address at the BJP-Shivsena rally at MMRDA grounds on Monday.

N Chavan, zonal deputy commissioner of police said that Kadam has been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Representation of People Act. He said that an assistant returning officer of the Election Commission approached the BKC police on Tuesday with the complaint.

"As of now, we have registered a case and are conducting investigations into the allegations. An arrest will be made only after we have conducted a thorough probe into the matter," said Chavan.
