The fire broke out at 4.00 pm at the Great Value Food Company that prepared sattu for mid-day-meals. Eight people incurred serious burns and were admitted to the Kailash hospital where two of them were declared brought dead.

SP Dehat Sudhir Kumar said seven fire brigade tenders have been called from Noida, Greater Noida and NTPC Dadri. The exact nature of damage could be ascertained only after the fire is controlled, he added. The company is owned by the Pinty Chadda Group.

Witnesses said a cylinder exploded when a welding work was going on.

Work had resumed in the company only on Wednesday after a similar incident had taken place last month. On August 17 the company premises had caught fire killing 12 people out of the 27 injured seriously.
