Fire in TN cracker factory kills one, injures four

One person was killed and four others, including three women, suffered serious injuries in a fire that swept through a fancy cracker factory at Nagapalayam.

One person was killed and four others, including three women, suffered serious injuries in a fire that swept through a fancy cracker factory at Nagapalayam near Srivilliputhur on Saturday.

Police said Rajkumar (28) was killed on the spot, when a cracker exploded while being made. The fire spread to the nearby sheds, injuring four others.

Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and took two hours to douse the blaze. The injured were admitted to the Government Hospital in Srivilliputhur.
