On Valentine's Day, Firozabad's students and government functionaries formed the human chain to mobilise voters to excercise their franchise. Firozabad goes to polls Feb 23.

Firozabad's District Magistrate Surendra Singh, Supreintendent of Police (City) Manzil Saini and Chief Development Officer Suresh Kumar Rathod supervised the preparations for the "Vote for India" campaign.

Students from thousands of small and big institutions lined up the road from the district headquarters to Makhanpur, Shikohabad, Mainpuri crossing, Jasrana, via Tundla and back to Firozabad. The route was divided into 120 points and sectors, headed by zonal magistrates.

The human chain covered all five assembly segments. Students displayed placards and banners and tied "Rakhis" to pledge participation in the voting exercise.
