First Indian Enka singer mesmerises all

World’s first male Indian Enka singer Sarbjit Singh Chadha and his band ‘Tokamachi Natsumero Aikoko’ enthralled the audience with their performances.

Sarbjit Singh, 59, who started his journey at the age of 15 said, “At 15, I first visited Japan when rock music was not so popular and it was Enka that was running the Japanese music industry and I liked it so much that I started learning it.”

“When I started it was not very famous. But my parents supported and because of them I managed to make a place of my own. And today, my family is proud of me of being the only Indian male Enka singer,” he added.

Singh managed to learn Japanese language and focused on the intricacies involved in this form of singing. Though he has his own business but “Enka” is his passion and loves giving stage performances.
