On the final day of the match, Rewa resumed the first innings with the overnight score of 183 runs. But Rewa failed to add any good score as the team was all out after adding 17 runs. Bhopal took an important lead of 69 runs.
Abhishek Singh was the most successful bowler for Bhopal team. His spell saw the departure of four important wickets of the opponents. He took four wickets by conceding 41 runs. Deepesh Singh claimed one wicket. Rajat Pandey and Samay Shrivastava shared one wicket each.
Bhopal started their second innings with openers Vikrant Singh and Rameez Khan. Both stitched 51 runs for the first wicket. Vikrant lost his wickets at his individual score of 40 runs against the delivery of Pal. His departure saw the fall of three wickets in quick succession. At the score of 114 runs for the loss of four wickets skippers of both teams decided to end the match as it was not possible to play the second innings on the final day. Bhopal was declared winner on the basis of first innings lead of 69 runs.
Bhopal is to play against Sagar in the semifinal at Bab-e-Aali Stadium from January 17. BDCA secretary Dr Shafquat Mohammad Khan, Syed Shakeel Mohamad, Junaid Kidwai, Hamidullah Khan ‘Mamu’, CS Dhakad and others congratulated the Bhopal team.
