Fishin? for fried stuff?

For ALL our multiplexes and malls, the city still hasn?t many vendors of global favourites like fish?n?chips, and may we add, chicken tikka. The two wholesome, mouthful and lip smacking options are still rare to find.

For ALL our multiplexes and malls, the city still hasn’t many vendors of global favourites like fish’n’chips, and may we add, chicken tikka. The two wholesome, mouthful and lip smacking options are still rare to find.

Adding to the number, however, is Delhi Fried Chicken at Mehman-Nawaz on the China Bazar Road adjacent to the Press Club. You really have to look hard to find this spot—though sniffing your way could be another way—as it is amidst a cluster of the staple kabab-paratha-biryani shops in the area.

But getting there is a worthy proposition for all a-fish-ianados. Sold by weight you could order here all the fish fingers and fried chicken you could tuck in to your heart’s content.

“We have been in the food business for long, but unlike our Moulviganj outlets where we offer chicken burgers, etc, here we decided to serve the upmarket stuff,” says Akhtar, the proprietor.

Though finger chips or mayonnaise do not accompany the dish, the fish fingers—sold by weight—go down well enough with the tangy chutney. So, also the fried chicken.
