Five arrested for hunting antelope

“We received information that some poachers were hunting antelope for selling its flesh,” said Inspector T.K. Tandle of the Georai tehsil police station.

In a joint operation with the Beed Local Crime Branch, the Georai police went to Nipani Javlka area.

They caught the five poachers with the antelope head and skin.

“The accused had already eaten and sold the flesh,” Tandle said.

The police said one of the five men arrested was Chingya Bhosle, who was wanted for the last five years.

He was booked in five serious criminal cases including robbery and house break-ins, Tandle added.
