The pincer movement tactics adopted by the security agencies in this direction in the mela area will make it nearly impossible for the ultras to operate as they will be dealt with immediately.

Five companies of Border Security Force from J& K will be arriving shortly in the city to take up position at different places in the Ardh Kumbh fair. These tough men with steel like determination have already dealt with terrorists on many occasions on the border and in the J&K and as such they fully know what to do and when.

Ardh Kumbh SSP Rajeev Sabharwal told HT Allahabad Live that BSF personnel are coming here with the specific task under precautionary steps being taken by the government to deal with any kind of situation. They will be equipped with the state of the art equipment, arms and ammunition.

Two companies will be on high alert in the city area which will also have a large crowd always on the move while the remaining three companies have been reserved particularly for the Ardh Kumbh mela area. They will form quick reaction teams in case of any happening, said the SSP. These personnel will be deployed at 14 sensitive points in the mela area which have been identified by us, he added.

Besides the BSF to deal specially with the ultras 12 Bomb Disposal and Destruction Teams from the police department will be at work in the mela area.

Most of them have already begun their work which will pick up momentum in a few days from now when all the teams become fully operational.

Meanwhile, the DIG Intelligence was in the city for two days to coordinate the working of the LIU and the special branch which sends its report directly to the intelligence headquarters.

Before leaving the city he held a closed-door meeting with the mela SSP and some other police officers deployed for the Ardh Kumbh mela.
