The shutdown is bound to cause inconvenience to nearly 50,000 CNG users in the city.

A spokesperson of the Haryana City Gas Ltd (HCGL) said the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) — main provider of CNG to HCGL — stopped the supply from Monday.

The HCGL owns five stations in Sectors 22, 29, 44, 53 and bus stand in Old Gurgaon.

“The problem has been caused due to a family dispute. The five stations will remain closed for the next two days. We hope that the supply will be restored by Wednesday afternoon if the two proprietors of the HCGL solve the dispute,” said the spokesperson.

He, however, added that he did not know the reason why IGL had stopped the CNG supply.

Meanwhile, a senior employee of the HCGL said IGL had halted the supply due to non-payment of pending dues from the last one month.

“The family dispute will cause inconvenience to nearly 50,000 CNG users,” said the employee.

The shutdown will, however, not affect domestic users of CNG and other industries etc.
