The city police have arrested Abdul Sattar, history-sheeter Nayeem and Sahnawaz (all the three from Muzaffarnagar) and two Noida residents – Rajpal, a washer man in Sector 11 and Kaasif, a bouncer at a pub in the Great India Place Mall. According to the police, Sattar claimed to be associated with some parties.

According to the police, Sanjay Gupta, a resident of Sector 11, had gone to Meerut with his family to attend a wedding function when eight miscreants came to his house posing as sales tax officer and held an employee hostage and looted cash and goods worth about Rs 25-30 lakh on April 30. During investigation the police found that the local washer man leaked the information to the robbers.

The police said the gang had planned this loot a month ago. “These gangsters are involved in many cases. Nayeem came out from jail a month back. Sattar was arrested in Mumbai in a loot case,” said Praveen Kumar, senior superintendent of police (SSP). “Washer man Rajpal during the interrogation gave vital information which led to the arrests,” said Kumar.
