Five persons, suspected to be associated with Naxalites, were arrested and sophisticated weapons seized from them in Patna district on Thursday, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Special Task Force of Bihar Police raided a place in Bakhtiarpur town, about 150 km from Patna, and arrested the persons. An AK-47, two magazines, five hand grenades and several live cartridges were recovered from their possession, they said.

The arrested were suspected to be involved in supplying firearms to the banned CPI (Maoist), police said.
