Five Nigerians without proper travel documents held

Five Nigerian nationals have been arrested from nearby Tirupur for not possessing proper travel documents, police said. They said they had come to India for exporting textile products and were in Tirupur for purchasing garments. However, they failed to substantiate their claim and had no proper documents, they said.

They said they had come to India for exporting textile products and were in Tirupur for purchasing garments. However, they failed to substantiate their claim and had no proper documents, they said.

A Antony, C Chunkemeka, Good Hope, Chinono Emmanuel and Ochesent were arrested last night and remanded in judicial custody by a court under the Foreigners Act 1946, they said.

Tirupur police have cautioned people to cross check the identity of the tenants before letting out their house, particularly to foreigners.
