Five terrorists killed along Indo-Pak border

They said the terrorists were challenged soon after they entered into the Indian territory and in the ensuing gun battle five of them were killed.

Security forces on Tuesday shot dead five terrorists in Machil sector of Jammu and Kashmir foiling an infiltration bid along the Indo-Pak border, Defence sources said.

Troops guarding the border noticed a group of 12 militants trying to infiltrate from across the border in Machil sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday night, the sources said.

They said the terrorists were challenged soon after they entered into the Indian territory and in the ensuing gun battle five of them were killed.

The bodies of the deceased terrorists were recovered by the troops this morning, while the search for other terrorists was continuing, the sources said.
