Five terrorists with Babbar Khalsa links held

The accused have been identified as Kulwant Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Jagtar Singh, Darshan Singh Dhadi and French citizen Pal Singh. As per the police, the accused have links with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

Addressing mediapersons at a press conference here on Wednesday, SP Mandeep Singh said, "We nabbed Gurmukh and Kulwant from the Amritsar bypass and seized two AK-47 assault rifles and 420 cartridges from their possession. About 200 of the cartridges could penetrate bullet-proof vehicles."

"Further investigation revealed that Kulwant, who is known to Narain Singh, alias Chaura, and Pal Singh, had received a consignment of RDX and weapons from Jagtar, which was later handed over to Narain. Subsequently, a part of the consignment was given to Pal Singh," the SP said.

Kulwant also worked with Pal Singh at his native village, Dhandowal, as a driver and domestic help. After Kulwant's arrest, he spilled the beans and revealed Narain and Pal Singh's plan for revival of terrorism in Punjab.

"The RDX planted recently in a car in Amritsar by Sukhdev Singh Chirra and the weapons recovered from him recently were also provided by Narain Singh. Punjab Police is already on his lookout and have announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for providing information about him that leads to his arrest," the police officer said.
