A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped before being killed at Jhijhai village in Manipur.

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped before being killed at Jhijhai village in the district, police said on Saturday.

The victim, who was on a visit to her grandparents, went missing on Thursday night, they said adding her naked body was later recovered from the nearby fields on Friday morning.

Senior officials had reached the spot to investigate the matter and no arrests had been made in this regard, they said.
