The murderer wanted to teach him a lesson for pocketing someone else’s fruit.

Sahil’s body was found in a bush near a graveyard adjacent to Deen Dayalpur village in Siwan on Sunday. He had been killed a day earlier. His eyes had been reportedly found burned with acid.

The Siwan police on Tuesday arrested his uncle, a 14-year-old student of the same village. Tariq (name changed) confessed to the crime and stated the reason behind it.

Siwan SP Satyavir Singh told HT when his family and villagers were looking for Sahil, it was Tariq who suggested searching for him in the bushes near the graveyard. This gave the police the clue about the murder.

In the course of investigation, Tariq told the police he lost his cool when Sahil picked up a mango plucked by him (Tariq) from the nearby orchard.

“Tariq (then) dumped Sahil’s body in a bush. He told the police he did not intend to kill Sahil, but that happened accidentally,” the SP added.

The deceased’s father, Adil, is a scrap dealer at Nainital in Uttarakhand. He had come to his native village recently. Earlier, he told the police that he did not have enmity with anyone in either his village or Nainital.
