Health Minister Ashok Bhatt on Sunday criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for announcing Rs 350 crore flood relief package for Gujarat, terming the amount insufficient.

He said when the primary damage has been estimated to be Rs 21,875 crore, the Central package is 'meagre'.

"The state government had asked for Rs 2,000 crore as interim relief and demanded a special package for Surat to revive its industry," he said in a statement.
The Minister said the Prime Minister was to come to Gujarat on August 10 but came the next day, that too in the last leg of his three-state tour.
"He came in the evening and undertook an aerial survey over Surat and announced the package in Vadodara."
